I first went to Istanbul searching for something simple: a manufacturing partner who could deliver the quality I'd spent years obsessing over as a buyer for Selfridges. What I found was more than a factory floor. I found a city that lives and breathes craft.
Istanbul doesn't stand still. It's the call to prayer echoing off modern glass towers. Ferries cutting across the Bosphorus next to superyachts. Ancient stone markets where you can still hear hammers on metal. That energy - that tension between old and new, east and west - it really gets under your skin.
Our denim is made in a specialist facility known for its technical excellence. But walk the floor and you'll notice something else. The cutters who've been doing this for thirty plus years. The sewers who inspect every seam like it's their own. This isn’t mass production, it's hands-on, person-by-person, pair-by-pair.
That first trip changed how I thought about what we were building. I'd come for precision. I left with something bigger: a sense that great clothes aren't just engineered. They're felt. The city's architecture - its bridges, its skyline, the geometry of it all - started showing up in rough sketches. Clean lines. Strong structure. Movement that feels natural.
Vingt Quatre has always been about more than denim. It's about a lifestyle. Confident but understated, built for real days, not just photos. Istanbul taught me that you can have both. Precision and soul. Scale and care.
